Creating Comfort in a New School Counselor's Office

My Students

Our students are kind, brave, and from all areas of the globe. They are a part of our school family and find trust, peace, love, and acceptance from our community. There may be ups and downs, but we love each other no matter what.

Each student has their own unique challenges, but they persevere to be the best they can be every day.

Our students are enthusiastic to come to school and to learn, and they inspire me to be better whenever I am around them!

My Project

The materials for this project are necessary items for creating a welcoming, comfortable and accessible space for students at our school. This year, we have been allocated another school counselor and need to furnish and fill her office to be able to serve our students. Students are excited to meet with the new school counselor to participate in small groups, classroom lessons, and individual counseling.

Students need to feel comfortable, safe and engaged in the counselor's office in order to open up, work through issues, and come to solutions together.

By offering cozy and accommodating seating, inspirational decor, dimmed lighting, and calming scents, students will have a safe haven built for comfort and connection. Giving our new counselor the tools she needs to best do her job will be the greatest gift.
