Crazy Cafeteria Needs Quiet and Calm

Help me give my students acoustic panels, canvas, digital cameras, and art supplies.

My Project

My EAST students are diligently working on community, school, and national projects. One school problem they have come across is the noise in our cafeteria. With entirely all hard surfaces, noise and voices travel far and loud with 330 kids in each lunch. We used our classroom technology to measure the sound decibels.

Through their own research, students came up with painting murals on acoustic panels and then placing those panels around the cafeteria walls.

Not only will this help with the noise level, but also be visually appealing. One classroom will be responsible for this project, but the effects will impact nearly 1,400 students. EAST classroom's vision is to transform the educational experience so innovative thinkers can drive positive change for their future, community, and world. The process of creating a quieter cafeteria is exactly what an EAST classroom is about. Throughout the project we will document progress with digital cameras.
