Colorful Fine Motor Fun!

Help me give my students colorful magnet blocks for visual exploration and fun collaborative fine motor play.

My Project

I teach a special needs preschool class with students who need extra support with sensory processing and in physically and visually accessing classroom materials. These colorful, magnetic blocks are perfect to provide my students with greater access to the fundamental preschool learning activity of block play in our preschool classroom. These blocks will provide colorful visual differentiation which is especially important to my visually impaired students, and can be used in conjunction with our classroom light table. The increased ease of stacking these magnetic blocks additionally makes them easy for all my students, including those with need extra support with fine motor skills, to participate in play with together with their peers.

These colorful magnetic blocks will help provide access to my students of all abilities in hands-on exploratory and group play and learning.

Through block play in our classroom, students work on important skills such as fine motor coordination, communication, shared use of materials with peers, and pre-academic concepts including color, shape and counting.
