Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 21 students who are multicultural and multilingual. My students live in an impoverished community near downtown Los Angeles. They range from newly arrived immigrants to third-generation immigrants. I have students that do not have adequate resources to keep learning from home. The students that I work with are receiving free school lunches. We are a Title I school. Despite the challenges my students face, they strive to do better each day and are eager to learn.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting for this project are to help maintain a clean and safe environment for my students in the classroom. The portable speaker is to help me project my voice while I am wearing a medical grade mask in the classroom. I will use the disinfectant materials to clean student”s work space and the areas in the classroom throughout the course of a day. The additional materials that are requested such as the kids face masks, hand sanitizer, soap and disinfectant wipes will equip us to be as safe as possible while Covid 19 continue to surge in our community.
