However, they were VERY intrigued by the Kwik Stix solid tempera paint sets. \r\n\r\nRight after coming back from the winter break, my students started a visual arts rotation so we were able to start using many of the materials right away. The art teacher taught the students about one element of art each week. She then showed students how to create art pieces using that week's focus element. One of the first art projects the students worked on was an owl drawn using the element of lines. Students used various styles of lines to draw their owls and then used the neon-colored Kwik Stix to color in their drawings and decorate the background.\r\n\r\nStudents have also gotten some items laminated. One of the fun activities to celebrate the 100th day of school was to think of how they might spend $100. Each student got to make their own $100 bill and we personalized it with each of their photos as the centerpiece of the bills. In the photo, students also wore their 100th Day of school crowns which were printed on the white cardstock funded by this project. The laminated $100 will hopefully be a forever keepsake students can have as a memory from their kindergarten year.\r\n\r\nIn the coming months, we'll be breaking into the shrink plastic and Twistables colored pencils to make some craft projects - magnets and possible key chains gifts for students' families. It's going to be exciting!\r\n\r\nThank you all again for your generous donations to our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1764871920209,"projectUrl":"project/creative-keepsakes/9613647/","projectTitle":"Creative Keepsakes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1179765_orig.jpg?crop=2800,2800,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1593055528789","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sun"},{"teacherId":1273894,"projectId":9937720,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to help purchase books for my students.
