My Students

I have thirty students that are ready to learn. Each of them are unique and are a valuable part of our classroom. I have ELL students, students with learning disabilities, and others that need to be challenged above the general curriculum. We need more resources in our school to help them succeed!

My Project

I would like to get more Chromebooks so that I can have my students use computers on a one-to-one basis. Currently, I have enough computers for half of my class and have to share another set of computers with the other 5th grade teachers at my school. We do not have enough computers for all of the kids in fifth grade to have a computer of their own when we do that.

If all of the teachers on my team get Chromebooks for the Utah State Board of Education Grant, we will be very close to one-to-one computers.

What will this do for us? It will allow my students use iReady to catch up and fill holes in their math knowledge from COVID. They will be able to use the computers to write and practice for the 5th grade writing test. It will also allow me to assess more students quicker online so that I can help meet my students needs which have been impacted by the pandemic.

There are so many things that I could do differently to benefit my students if we had one-to-one computers across my grade! I am excited to get closer to this goal.
