Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is proud to serve a diverse community, with the majority of our families identifying as Hispanic. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we plan to host a Literacy Night to bring families together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and the remarkable contributions of Hispanic individuals to literature, arts, science, and society. This event will offer an engaging and educational experience for students and their families through games, activities, and reading-focused events.

This grant will provide books that offer culturally relevant stories, decorations that create an inviting and festive atmosphere, prizes that motivate participation, and bulletin boards that showcase student work and educational materials.

Our goals include increasing family engagement, fostering cultural pride, and improving literacy skills through fun, interactive activities like Book Bingo, a photo booth, and community reading corners. Our students are special because they bring a rich diversity of experiences and perspectives from their Hispanic heritage, and this event will honor and celebrate their unique backgrounds while promoting academic growth and community connection.
