My Students

My students are an amazing group of kids. They are willing to learn and explore new ideas. My students are wonderful, appreciative, and resilient children from many different backgrounds. I want to give them and their families all the tools I can to be successful, not only in school but in life too!

My students remain positive and focused on learning new concepts.

Every child receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located near a large military base and, as a result, serve children of active duty and retired military.

My Project

Through the use of drones, my students will be able to understand more about the environment. They’ll be able to learn more about the surrounding biome and atmospheric conditions. They can explore the marine biology of the Cape Fear River and monitor endangered species. They can even explore inaccessible areas and different types of terrain, and learn first-hand how scientists are using drones in environmental work.

DEERC D20 Mini Drone can also help students to learn programming through applications and software programs.

Using drones can help them improve their hand and eye coordination. Through controlling the drone, students can practice the movement of their hands in sync with following the motion of the drone with their eyes.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
