My Project

One of the most fundamental needs in any chemistry classroom is the ability to accurately measure the mass of various chemical compounds so that reactions occur in a controlled environment. However, earlier this year disaster struck--The HVAC system in our school malfunctioned, leading to nearly 100% humidity in our chemistry classroom while scales were set up for a lab. This destroyed nearly all of our scales.

We desperately need your help to help us get enough scales so that we can teach basic chemistry next year.

Our budget has been cut again this year, and we do not have the means to purchase 8 of these scales. Your donation to help us get four scales--half of what we need--will at least mean we can run labs with students sharing scales.

Please help us. We need scales to run any sort of lab in chemistry because students need to know how much of what compound they are combining. And we need these specific scales because they have a level of precision and durability required to teach 15 year old students about the chemical properties of the world around them.

I have often had students talk about how my chemistry class launched a passion for science. I want to keep opening those doors to my students, and I need your support to do it.
