Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to school each day, ready to learn, and to explore the world around them. They are inquisitive, full of energy, and aren't afraid to take risks. Each has their own unique learning style and they thrive with opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and collaboration. As their teacher, it is my responsibility not only to nurture and develop their learning styles, but also to support them on days where they might be having a difficult time regulating their feelings and emotions.

Although my students have amazing character traits, there are days where they face challenges at home and with their peers that can prevent them from feeling their best.

A calming area in my classroom would be a safe space for my students to have the opportunity to re-regulate and reset. This in turn will help students get back to learning. The space would be an area where students know they are not in trouble, but rather this an area to help make them feel better.
