Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the most amazing individuals who conquer every day trials while trying to meet the expectations of the education system. KAES is tucked back in a rural area surrounded by cow farms, grape vines and other agriculture features. Many of my students are migrant students and some come back and forth from Mexico every year.
KAES has the most driven, passionate and fearless students who face and overcome the daily struggle of poverty.
Many students participate in after school activities such as Folklora dancing, basketball, year book, broadcasting and art. My school brings together community and education, developing the whole child.
My Project
Many students coming back to in person learning post-pandemic are suffering from extreme anxiety. Students of all ages are re-learning classroom protocols and norms. Please help prepare our teachers by providing them Calm Down Kits for their classroom.
Teachers need to be prepared in a moments notice when a student begins to feel big emotions.
These kits will provide them an amazing way to re-center their student in a safe and comfortable manner. Please help support social emotional well-being in McFarland, CA. All teachers will be taught by me (the School Counselor) how to implement all tools. Thank you so much for your support!
