Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our middle school is now offering intramural sports! The first sport we are offering to students is volleyball. We currently have 40+ students signed up for our after school club and we also have a wait list of 25+ students! Since this is our first year offering this program/sport, we are in need of some new equipment to create a better overall experience for the students.

Help us introduce volleyball to our middle school students by providing us with new equipment to make our intramural program a memorable one!

The first 3-4 weeks of our program will be an overview of the sport including drills and activities to help students understand the basics. During the following 4 weeks, students will have a chance to participate in games against each other to put their newly acquired skills on display! We are hoping this program also increases engagement in school as participation will be tied to the students' academic scores and behavior in the building. The volleyballs and cones will be used by the students during our drills and games. The ball bag and pump will be used to organize and keep our volleyballs in great, usable shape. We are excited to coach and work with our students after school and to hopefully increase engagement and attendance in the classroom!
