Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are 4-year-olds who love to learn and create! My class of 20 includes readiness preschool students and special education students with a variety of learning abilities and needs. Each child who walks into my classroom holds a very special place in my heart as they learn and grow through play, exploration and social interactions with adults and their peers.

I believe that each child has a special way of learning and requires a variety of tools and opportunities to achieve goals and make gains socially and educationally.

Providing my students with the opportunities to learn, play, and socialize requires individual instruction, accommodations, visual supports, modeling, and many more teaching strategies to ensure success for everyone.

Many of my students come from single-parent homes, families struggling with poverty, and families where English is a second language. I find that making strong connections with my families is an important key to create relationships and encourage parents to be invested in their child's learning, development, and educational journey.

My Project

This project includes a wide variety of building materials to support my students in brainstorming, planning, and cooperatively creating. With these materials, students will have opportunities to develop skills related to science, engineering, art, and math as well as their ability to interact cooperatively with their peers.

Duplo Lego Bricks and accessories can be paired with LEGO education STEAM activities which not only support learning in all learning domains for early childhood students, but bring learning adventures to life.

With teacher facilitation and support, students will have multiple chances to contemplate and problem solve within a small group as they are presented with a problem or task that requires a solution.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
