My Students

Our school is located in an inner city area and provides a free college preparatory education with AP curriculum to all students. We are a charter school offering all advanced placement classes to a wide variety of students, many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college. Our students tend to be economically challenged but highly motivated.

The student population is formed through a public lottery and every student that applies has the opportunity to attend.

We are continuously ranked among the top best public high schools in the nation. Our school does not receive traditional funds for classroom supplies and many teachers spend their own money to support classroom needs. We are a family of individuals that spend each day striving to reach our goals and through education, making the world a better place to live. My students are hardworking, passionate and hopeful. They are seeking the opportunity to attend a four-year university, live their best lives and be defined by their work ethic and degree of education instead of their financial circumstances or home life.

My Project

During and at the end of each grow season, it is imperative that we thoroughly clean our greenhouse facility. Removing old crop debris, cleaning and being proactive with pest management are all keys for a successful grow cycle.

The battery powered leaf-blower that we are seeking will allow for a more environmentally friendly way to accomplish our goals, as they don't give off the harmful emissions seen with gas blowers.

Clean-out season is the ideal time to start fresh, with the cleanest, most organized environment possible. Students will discover the importance of this facet of horticulture and may be able to bring their knowledge of such into the workplace or their future studies.
