This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need a way to experience the conversation of matter in chemistry, while learning about how atoms rearrange themselves. It can be difficult to grasp the concept of atoms and molecules at such a young age, but if they get to experience the chemistry in person, it will create an experience they can use to make sense of it. My goal for this project is to allow my students to be able to participate in chemistry labs as they are learning about it. I want them to feel the excitement of seeing something new being made by just mixing substances.

Being able to experience chemistry as a scientist will give my students the ability to better make sense of its concepts.

Students cannot learn about balancing equations without having a hands-on experience with it. My students get very excited about doing labs and activities, and I know they would really appreciate getting a chance to do some really cool experiments.
