These materials will make a difference to my students' learning by making the content exciting and hands-on. Many science concepts can be confusing and vague and they require going through certain layers to understand the whole. It can also be challenging to get the students to engage with certain topics when they are not directly interested in the topic. With these materials, students will be able to get excited about any topic.
Students will be detectives and scientists as they receive a story with a problem that they must solve. They will get a mysterious box with a set of locks on it that they must break into, in order to solve the problem. They will need to figure out the clue to each lock before they can move on to the next and eventually, get into the box itself.
Students will work together in order to beat the team next to them in friendly competition. Breakout boxes like these can be so engaging for even the most difficult student. They enjoy the rush of unlocking each lock and getting closer to finding out the contents of the box.
