Beautification From School to Home

Help me give my students seeds and small boxes, along with soil and tools to grow flowers that the students will be able to take home.

My Project

I would like for my students to be able to grow flowers in the classroom and then take them home to plant in their yards. Since I’m an earth science teacher, I feel this will help them understand how soil and water are very important in the growth of our flowers and plants. The students will create their own boxes with the types of flowers that they would like to plant. The gardening tools will be used to plant the seeds and to help them grow.

Students will grow their own flowers to take plant around the school building and to take home this summer to plant in their yards.

The card stock would be used to create a house as a background, such as a house that looks like maybe their own home. The popsicle sticks or craft sticks will be used to create a fence around the box where the flowers will be planted.
