My students loved a chance to be active and creative while learning. It was fun for me to watch them be able to put their ideas together in a constructive way.\r\n\r\n The students had a variety of ideas to get Civil War questions implemented into a board game. Some used the materials to create a version of an old board game while others brainstormed a whole new concept. A group of students created a chess board with the pieces all having questions hot glued to the bottom of them. This group enjoyed showing the class how chess is played.\r\n\r\n The groups had to show the class how the game was played and then at the end of the presentations the students played with the other board games. We kept most of the board games in the class to be played on the last day of school. Thanks for making this happen. My students are really enjoying working with the rocks and minerals. They are completing several tests to determine what type of rock or mineral they have at their seats. Students are using the white plates for the streak test and glass for testing the hardness of the mineral. They have been testing with hydrogen peroxide to look for chemical reactions. The students are learning so much through explorations and collaborations with their groups. \r\nStudents are also enjoying the coloring pages. When students finish early, they are able to get a page from the coloring book to work on at their seat.
