My students will use these materials to create their own unique designs and products to raise money for field trips, future projects, and new science equipment for the class. This project will give all students the opportunity to work together to create their own business.
These young entrepreneurs will experience life skills through this project while including financial literacy and maker spaces while including all core subjects. The students will learn of profit margins, costs, supply and demand, advertisement, and retail skills among many other things through this project.
The students will begin by making t-shirts and water bottles to sell during our school store. They will then need to determine their profits and use a portion of the profits to buy new materials to keep the business running. We have been collaborating with our local vocational school who has been building our school store stand. It has been wonderful to have these young pre-adults helping my middle school students. This has been a group effort. Please help us get our business started!
