My Project

Last year, we had our first Math Hoops tournament, which was a huge success! Planning for the 2022-2023 school year, we would like to expand our tournament to include trophies and medals. Our school is placing a greater focus on STEM activities and parent involvement programs this school year. The trophies and medals provided by this project, will be presented to the winners during a special award ceremony in which parents will be invited to attend and celebrate math achievement with their students.

Our 4th graders loved Math Hoops last year, so we are certain this year, inviting 3rd & 5th will make an even greater impact on our students' multiplication fluency.

As teachers, we try hard to come up with creative ways to make math meaningful. We know how important it is for students to memorize their facts so they will have greater math success in future grades. Inviting upper grades to also participate will enable us to make multiplication a three-year mathematics focus for our students and provide a fun way with the requested trophies to recognize students for their math success and hard work. Thank you for helping us to make mathematics through Math Hoops a memory that will last a lifetime for our students.
