Help me give my students ambiance (lighting), a few snacks to get us through the day, and a MacBook for the teacher to have an updated working computer so she can keep us working hard!

My Project

My tenth-grade students live in the financially poorest county in North Carolina, but in an area with some of the richest diversity. Most, if not all, of my students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Many of our students live very stress-filled lives, always worrying about their next meal, safe spaces, or having the basics of comfort. Over the years, I have tried to make my English classroom a comfortable, welcoming environment to give them a safe place with snacks available for any in need. I try to keep snacks stocked, but it gets expensive. Lighting cools the room from the harsh florescent lighting overhead.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.

This is also why I am requesting a MacBook so that I can have a good, dependable, working laptop to create all the wonderful lessons my students need to find success in life.
