My Project

My engineering students love to create their own unique designs to 3D print. The design process typically involves multiple iterations and engineers need to understand how a project goes from concept to completion. We will use this 3D printer for classroom projects but also allow students to 3D print for personal projects.

We teach our students about 3D modeling in CAD, and then use the 3D printers to bring their designs to life.

It's like magic to them. Along the way, they have to learn to troubleshoot to find and fix problems when their prints don't come out as they imagined. They are persistent and learn that sometimes it will take multiple attempts to get everything to turn out right.

Technology is always changing. This printer will allow students to use a printer similar to what is used in industry to better prepare them for what is to come in college and potential careers.
