The stress balls have become a simple yet powerful tool for helping students manage anxiety and stay focused during class activities. Many of my students reach for them during speaking exercises or reading assessments, and I've noticed that they are more relaxed and confident when participating in Spanish conversations. The magnetic bookshelves have also transformed our learning environment—they keep our classroom library organized, accessible, and inviting. Students are drawn to the colorful and neatly displayed Spanish books, making independent reading time more engaging and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials first arrived, my students were genuinely excited. They immediately started exploring the new reading options, trading recommendations with classmates, and even asking to borrow books to read at home. Some students who were hesitant readers before have now found Spanish books that truly interest them. It's been heartwarming to see them sit comfortably, stress ball in hand, fully engaged in reading and discussing stories in the target language.\r\n\r\nThank you so much to our generous donors for helping bring these resources into our classroom. Your support has truly made a difference in creating a more welcoming, calming, and engaging space for learning Spanish. As we move forward, my students are using these materials to prepare short book talks in Spanish to share with the class—an activity that builds both confidence and fluency. Thanks to your generosity, my students now have the tools to feel more comfortable taking risks and expressing themselves in Spanish every day.","fullyFundedDate":1754885403710,"projectUrl":"project/book-shelves-and-stress-balls-to-organiz/9568818/","projectTitle":"Book Shelves and Stress Balls to Organize and Relieve Stress","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maddelein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6233999_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1564710946596","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6233999"},{"teacherId":6233999,"projectId":9536667,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! They immediately started asking how they could earn them, and it created a buzz of excitement in the room. For many of my high school Spanish students, having small but meaningful rewards motivates them to participate more, take risks with their speaking, and stay engaged in their learning. It was heartwarming to see even the quieter students perk up when they realized there was something fun to look forward to.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun using the prizes as part of classroom activities. For example, during a recent review game in Spanish, students worked in teams to practice vocabulary and verb conjugations. The chance to win one of the donated prizes pushed them to collaborate more, stay focused, and encourage each other in Spanish. It was such a great moment to see them laughing, competing, and—most importantly—using the language without fear of making mistakes.\r\n\r\nNext, I plan to connect these prizes to our ongoing interpersonal speaking activities. Students will be able to earn them not just for \"winning\" a game, but also for positive classroom behaviors like helping a peer, speaking only in Spanish during an activity, or showing perseverance. This way, the prizes reinforce a positive learning culture while supporting their growth in language skills. Your generous donation is already making a real difference in how my students engage and take ownership of their learning—thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1743545079306,"projectUrl":"project/help-make-my-kids-feel-like-kids-again/9222028/","projectTitle":"Help Make My Kids Feel Like Kids Again","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maddelein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6233999_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1564710946596","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6233999"},{"teacherId":7212242,"projectId":8920597,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support of this project. Students also often discussed their books outside of the podcast recordings.
