My Students

Like a hand-crafted quilt, our student body is unique and beautiful. Our children come from countries all around the globe, speaking a variety of languages and honoring many religions, cultures, and traditions. Many students wear ornate, beautiful clothing and decorate their skin for spiritual purposes. Some children participate in festivities that their peers don't understand. Students want to know more about one another, and especially friends that come from far away. Every student has a special story. Most importantly, every child wants to be accepted and respected.

My Project

Picture books help children of all ages understand and explore the world around them; they are the pathway to the world beyond home, neighborhood, and community. Engaging books with pictures and photographs spark curiosity and encourage desire to learn. Picture books make learning accessible to children of all abilities.

Teaching acceptance, compassion, tolerance, and self-control has never been more important.

Diversity in our world is the norm, not the exception. Children live and go to school in a global community, and students must be prepared to engage appropriately with others beyond school walls. To make our world a better place, we must teach children to become thoughtful, compassionate, open-minded, and tolerant people. Won't you help us teach peace and love?
