My Students

I have the wonderful opportunity to teach at a public Title I school that is classified as a CEP (community eligibility provision) school where all the student receive free breakfast and lunch daily. These amazing students come from a diverse background of military and non military families who truly want the best for their children.

As the social worker of a high needs and high poverty school, I am looking forward to providing support to help students reach their fullest potential through Social Emotional Learning Lessons (SEL).

My students are in great need of support with regulating their emotions with overcoming emotions and learning strategies to help support difficult moments.

With these students' needs in mind in my classroom I will create a warm, welcoming environment to provide the support that they need to be successful in school and in life.

My Project

We are in unprecedented times. Many of our families are facing challenges to provide health and wellness items for their children. The weather here in NC is really unpredictable. One moment it is hot, the next it is cold, I have noticed that students come to school without lotion, chapstick, and even the basic hygiene items to include deodorant, and feminine hygiene products.

Often times our students experience life changes while at school.

It is my goal to ensure students are ready and prepared for the process.

We also have students who arrive to school after breakfast is served. Most times, these students are hungry. The snacks will ensure the students have access to a variety of items that help them make it through the first few hours of school.

Lastly, we stress the importance of washing hands, sanitizing, and keeping the classroom clean. The Lysol wipes, Kleenex, and hand wipes, are an additional option to help maintain and optimize a healthy and whole learning environment.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
