Using the engineering kits, they designed and tested their own creations, learning through trial and error. The weather STEM kits allowed them to explore extreme weather in a safe, interactive way, while the slime materials made lessons on matter and chemical reactions both fun and memorable. The human ear model gave students a concrete way to understand how sound travels, which deepened their comprehension significantly.\r\nBecause of these materials, I was able to shift my teaching toward a more student-centered, inquiry-based approach. Lessons became more interactive, and students were more willing to take risks, ask questions, and collaborate with one another. It kept the students engaged. More than traditional base 10 blocks. For regrouping or borrowing, being able to break apart the tens showed a visual of turning a ten into ten ones.
