A Guide to Guide II

My Project

General education is the goal for all students. We know that for some that is not possible. On the other end, there are students with disabilities that still can function in a general education setting. For insight purposes, those students get something called pull out or push in. This can be small groups or one on one. As a teacher, it is still my job to provide instruction that is accessible to all students. The current curriculum could use some additional support to reach all students.

Aligning to the research on the Science of Reading helps reach all goals and follows the age-appropriate learning progression.

Hands2Mind has done a spectacular job providing a resource for teachers that included direct instruction, guided practice, as well as independent practice. The reason I selected this resource is for the picture ques, small practice, manipulatives, and spiraling review. These factors are monumental is the learned for my students with Autism. It follows a consistent structure which also helps with change and transitions.
