Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their ability to keep showing up, even when school, life, and future planning feel overwhelming. They are creative, thoughtful, and full of potential, but many of them need a space where they can feel calm, comfortable, and encouraged as they build confidence, coping skills, and goals for their future.

This project will help transform a classroom into a supportive space for resiliency groups, mental health group sessions, and CAP advisory.

The bean bag chairs and soft area rug will create a cozy, flexible seating area where students can feel more at ease during small group discussions, reflection activities, and advisory lessons. A comfortable environment can help students feel safer opening up, participating, and engaging in conversations about stress, emotions, decision-making, and personal growth.

The bulletin board paper, eucalyptus borders, welcome banner, and positive saying accents will help make the classroom feel warm, organized, and inviting. These materials will be used to create displays that promote encouragement, belonging, resilience, and emotional wellness.

The college, university, and military pennants will help students visualize different paths available to them after high school. During CAP advisory, these pennants will support conversations about college, career readiness, military opportunities, goal-setting, and future planning. Seeing a variety of schools and pathways represented can help students imagine possibilities for themselves and feel motivated to explore their next steps.

Together, these resources will help create a space where students can reset, reflect, build resilience, and dream about their futures. Your support will help my students feel seen, supported, and inspired both emotionally and academically.
