Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a school counselor, I have the privilege of working with students who demonstrate incredible resilience, growth, and potential every day. I love seeing my students overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop the social and emotional skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. They come to counseling seeking support, encouragement, and a safe space where they can feel heard and valued.

To better meet their needs, I am requesting funding for storage shelves, a secure cabinet, and organizational resources for my counselor's office.

These items will allow me to properly store books, social-emotional learning games, therapeutic toys, and snacks that help students regulate emotions, develop coping skills, and stay engaged during counseling sessions. Having these materials organized and easily accessible will help me provide timely support and create a welcoming environment where students can learn and grow.

The secure cabinet is especially important because it will be used to safely store confidential student records and documents that must remain protected. Proper storage ensures that sensitive information is organized, secure, and accessible when needed to best support student success.

These resources are crucial to helping my students navigate their day, meet their emotional and academic goals, and develop the skills they need to thrive. By supporting this project, you will help create a more organized, supportive, and effective counseling space where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
