When student initially saw the new scooters they were curious as to what they were. We have scooters but these were a different type that was new to them. These scooters work from upper body twisting motion using the arms. Upper body arm twists is an exercise that we do during our class warm up, so it was already in their skill set. After the initial learning curve students were literally off. All students regardless of there abilities where using words to express their desire to use the scooters, taking turns using the scooters, and taking care not to damage the scooters.\r\n\r\nThe faces tell it all. The students are engaged, independent, and having fun. and smiling. We constantly find new ways to use the scooters during instructional time as well choice time. Increasing student independence is a huge goal these scooters have gone a long way toward helping students increase and achieve independence.
