We are singers, readers, writers, mathematicians, and lovers of technology. Unfortunately we don't have enough technology in our building. Our class does not have a technology period to go the computer lab. We use two laptops in the classroom which are not enough for all my kiddos to develop the fluency they will need to interact with technology in the future. It is the one thing they look forward to earning extra time to use the laptops. My students need unique and engaging ways to stay motivated to learn each day. Incorporating technology gives them access to the individualized attention they need. My dream would be to have enough laptops to make my classroom a 1:1 technology environment, but if I could have enough for small groups to utilize daily to improve language, reading, and math skills I would be so thankful! If I were to have a laptop, I could make technology available to more students throughout the day. Just the thought of it makes me so excited! There are many Internet based resources I can use to reinforce academic skills while building fluency with technology. Many of my students also speak English as a second language. Your donation will give them the opportunity to enrich their developing vocabulary and give them additional access to resources they didn't have before.
