My Students

I have 20 amazing fifth graders. A large percentage of the students at our school are English Language Learners and more than half of our students are from low-income households.

These students are so happy to be back in the classroom full time!

This past year has been a challenge for everyone. Excited for the year, they come to school with a positive attitude every day! I want nothing more than to see them succeed in the classroom and in life. They are caring, proactive, positive children wise beyond their years.

My Project

This will allow us to have all of the supplies that are required for our Science Curriculum.

In fifth grade, Science is one of the tested subjects.

Every day during Science class, the kids have a blast. Unfortunately, sometimes we pass up on doing specific demonstrations/activities that are in our science curriculum because we do not have the supplies needed. If we could have more supplies the students would be able to do even more hands on experiments that are in the Science Curriculum. When students participate in hands on learning activities and discover ideas for themselves, the knowledge that they gain sticks with them even longer.

This project will help fully stock our classroom, but also provide additional supplies for the other three fifth grade classrooms at this school.
