Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are such an amazing group of little learners! They are curious, kind, and so much fun to be with as they explore the wonderful world of second grade. Their smiles and laughter make me the luckiest teacher ever!

I feel so incredibly lucky and thankful to spend my first year teaching with my amazing group of 2nd graders!

Each student in my classroom absolutely loves learning and books! For many of my students, gathering together as a community on our classroom rug for our morning meetings, story-time, and group projects is their favorite part of the day!

My students love to give hugs, high fives, and excitedly share their stories and learning with one another and me! They are kind to one another, with everyone being friends who love to work with one another and play together during recess.

I work at a Title I-funded school where all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students have unlimited potential, and I work as hard as I can to give them the education they deserve!

My Project

This is my first year teaching, and I couldn't be happier! I love my 2nd-grade students and hope to do all I can to inspire them to be lifelong readers and learners!

A key factor in the development of 2nd grade readers is the reading of books that offer just the right level of support and challenge based on individual student needs.

This collection of leveled books will help students become successful and enthusiastic readers—with specially selected books for every reading level!

When books are matched to readers, my students will feel successful reading at his or her own pace using the leveled reader that best suits their individual needs and help keep them reading and building upon their own success!

This set includes a selection of books at each guided reading level from I-M and are on favorite characters such as Amelia Bedelia, Splat the Cat, Henry and Mudge, Flat Stanley, Frog and Toad, Fly Guy, Biscuit and more!

These books would be used for small group guided reading lessons as well as individualized reading time.
