While my classes are full of excited and enthusiastic readers, our school's media center has been without funding for the past five years. This means that students often do not have access to brand new books or marginalized genres. • Bring an iPad to our Classroom!

  I want to give you my heartfelt thanks for your help in making this DonorsChoose project a reality. I am surprised daily as to how integral our classroom's iPad has become to the way my students and I work together. We are currently in the middle of a research project/presentation on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the students are using the technology to share information and prepare presentations in new an exciting ways. I am so grateful for your donation to our classroom; it has enabled students to utilize new technologies and become the literate and engaged learners of tomorrow.”

  A brief word of thanks for those who donated so generously to my classroom's lending library. My students are engaged and curious learners, but our high school's media center has been without funding for the last five years. This means that while many of my students are interested in reading, the options available to them are somewhat out of date. By giving my students access to exciting new reading materials, you are inspiring them to new heights in their education.

  This is especially true for my students who are not reading on their grade level. Graphic novels offer students who read at a low level distinct advantages. The images offer them extra support in their reading. A student who might feel self-conscious taking an on their reading level book out feel no shame in reading comic books... and are advancing their fluency with every page.
