My Students

Woo-hoo! My classroom is finally getting an interactive whiteboard. I am very excited and I want to have lots of interactive activities for my kids next year.

I teach 6th grade English Language Arts to a great group of ethnically diverse, economically disadvantaged kids in NYC.

They are good kids and they try very hard in class. We have a little technology here and there. We use laptops to research topics, and our Elmo to view concepts. Soon though we will have a whiteboard and the technology fun will begin.

My Project

These interactive activities for the whiteboard will get all of my kids engaged in learning. The one area that is really hard to get kids interested in is grammar. There's not a lot there to interest a kid. Having these CDs will hopefully boost their grammar knowledge. They will also be a great addition to our test prep. I am also very excited about the Farcebook posters. After we study the gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece, I want my kids to create Farcebook posters of their favorite one. This will be a great bulletin board for the beginning of the year.

Although my students are hardworking, I want them to have a little fun in the classroom too.

These CDs and posters will bring the best of both worlds to my students. Your generosity will enable all of my students to become stronger English students.
