My Students

Paper jam? Half of the page missing? Margins suddenly an inch shorter than usual? Oh yeah, we have that in our delightful class printer. Since the usual procedure of screaming and throwing a fit at the printer doesn't really work in a classroom, I have decided it's time to upgrade.

I teach 6th grade English language Arts to a great group of ethnically diverse, economically disadvantaged kids in NYC.

My kids are smart, spunky, struggling, stars. (How's that for alliteration?) We do lots of projects through out the year; we write reports, we make posters, we practice our grammar. Or we try to, but our printer has other ideas sometimes.

My Project

Having a brand new, top of the line COLOR printer would be seriously great. We could print out color pictures for our animal reports or chimp posters. Need a copy of the book cover for our response to literature? No problem, we can handle that. If the copy lady is absent, I can print out a class set of noun sheets to keep my kids working all day long.

This printer will keep my kids engaged in the lesson we're working on and add a touch of professional pride to published writing.
