Your generosity ensures that hunger is no longer a barrier to learning for so many young people who walk through our doors each day. Because of you, students who rely on school for consistent nourishment now have access to the healthy snacks they need to stay energized, focused, and ready to participate.\r\n\r\nYour gift does more than fill empty stomachs—it reminds our students that they are seen, valued, and supported by a wider community that believes in their potential. The Living Room in the IDL (Innovation and Design Lab) is utilized each and every day. It is serving exactly the function of it's intention, which is to provide a comfortable, welcoming space for students to gather and feel a sense of connection and belonging with their peers. \r\n\r\nEach day in our advisory, our ritual is to gather in the living room for a \"check in\" with each other. This has become a comfortable routine for them. Students feel a sense of ownership in the space and take turns leading group discussions using the materials we ordered through Donors Choose. The cozy cushions and bean bag chairs are favorites and always being used. This is fostering a sense of cohesion and belonging in the group, which is so positive, especially for our students who lack that feeling in their lives outside of Pathways High.\r\n\r\nThanks again for supporting our classroom and the good work we are doing at Pathways. Your generosity allowed me to get supplies to turn my ideas into an engaging project-based learning seminar for my students. \r\n\r\nAs soon as the deliveries arrived, students wanted to know what was inside. As I unpacked the materials and told them about the new class, their eyes lit up. They were so excited to get to learn about architecture, and I was excited to share my love of Frank Lloyd Wright with them. \r\n\r\nMy first step to creating the seminar was to create a model using these materials so students could have a clear visual of what the seminar would entail. While building this model, students had so much fun guessing what I was making and trying to figure out where my design inspiration came from -- an ear of corn! \r\n\r\nMultiple students have approached me saying they want to enroll in this seminar and asked me to sign them up even though we are weeks away from registration.
