Through Donors choose and supporters who champion for a love of reading, we were able to fund our Fairytale Follies in First Grade Reading Project. We used the texts to discuss story elements like: character, setting, problem/solution, cause/effect and of course important lessons that relate to real life situations. \r\nThese texts were engaging for students to ready and gave them a variety of stories to choose from. It has made a great difference in my classroom already!\r\n\r\nEach day, students come to school to learn. While at school, if given the opportunity, students can also learn about each others' strengths and struggles. Many children think that learning English is easy. When challenged with learning Spanish, they can witness the difficulty that our Hispanic population deals with. There are moments in our day where they have feelings of equality because they realize that not everything is easy to learn. \r\n\r\nOne little girl in my class, Hispanic, has they happiest smile when she know the Spanish words and the others don't.
