Our first grade is a moving and grooving group. We are learning so many new words and strategies in reading that we need to make our library more accessible. So we are looking to have a mobile unit to provide for this need. The students love to have many books to choose from. Over the years, I have collected many. This will make it easier for them to make choices by interest and by levels if need be. Our classroom has a unique personality. We have been working on strengthening our rigor and perseverance in spending time doing effective learning. We have classroom guidelines that give us many opportunities to engage in learning. We have classroom centers, files, activities and manipulatives to keep us excited about learning. We look for new ways to keep that engagement going. Reading is such a critical skill at grade 1.
