As multilingual learners, my students thrive with hands-on experiences, and these materials have already sparked so much enthusiasm and conversation.\r\n\r\nAlthough our Family Paint Night was originally planned for this school year, the materials arrived later than expected and our school year is quickly coming to a close. Thankfully, I have the privilege of continuing with the same students and families next year, which means this special event is still very much happening! In fact, the delay has only built even more excitement. Having a comforting, nonjudgmental companion helped lower anxiety and encouraged students to take risks with speaking and reading in English.\r\n\r\nThe teddy bears have also become important social-emotional supports. Students use them during calming breaks, transitions, and moments when they need reassurance. Many teachers have now taken this strategy on and do it within the classroom as a way to help their students regulate. They love the comfortable chair, and many like to cuddle the stuffies that were purchased.
