The students absolutely love the large, brightly colored scooters. They have added an exciting and engaging element to our physical education classes, allowing for more variety in movement and activity within the gym. The scooters have quickly become a favorite among the students and have significantly enhanced their enthusiasm for participating in class.\r\n\r\nThe addition of these scooters has been a true asset to my physical education program. I have been able to incorporate new skills and creative activities that promote physical fitness in a fun and dynamic way. The students are getting a great deal of exercise while using the scooters, particularly benefiting from cardio and lower body workouts. Because they are having so much fun, they often don't even realize how much physical activity they are doing during these sessions.\r\n\r\nOne of the most popular games we play is called \"Hospital.\" In this activity, the scooters are used as ambulances. When a student is 'out,' they sit and wait to be picked up by an 'ambulance driver' who carefully pulls them to the designated hospital area. After performing 10 jumping jacks, they are released and allowed to rejoin the game. This creative use of the scooters has added both excitement and movement to our lessons. During read-alouds, we pause often to model thinking aloud, ask questions, and encourage discussion. In small groups, we focus on targeted skills using leveled texts, and students have a chance to talk through their ideas and build fluency. During independent reading, students curl up with books of their own choosing, practicing everything we've been learning at their own pace.\r\n\r\nI have a student who is an English language learner, has been gravitating toward some of the beautifully illustrated texts, which help him connect words and meaning through pictures.
