When the boxes arrived, the excitement in the room was palpable; there is truly nothing like the \"new book smell\" to get students eager to read. My students immediately began sorting through the titles, and seeing their faces light up as they found topics and characters they resonated with was a highlight of our school year. These materials have transformed our reading nook into a vibrant, organized, and inviting space where students actually want to spend their time.\r\n\r\nThe addition of these books has completely changed the landscape of reading in our classroom. With the new book bins for our Reading Bingo reading Program, my students are now able to browse our collection independently and find exactly what they are looking for. This organization has taught them a sense of stewardship and pride in our shared resources. More importantly, having a diverse range of reading levels and genres means that every student, from my most advanced readers to those who are still building their confidence, has something engaging and accessible to dive into during our independent reading time.","fullyFundedDate":1764784583891,"projectUrl":"project/great-books-for-young-readers/9916410/","projectTitle":"Great Books for Young Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Welsh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp516149_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509492431101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-welsh"},{"teacherId":516149,"projectId":9356324,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity in providing my students with access to the Kids Discover website. In a world where digital literacy is just as important as reading a physical book, having a high-quality, kid-friendly resource like this is a total game-changer. My students were absolutely thrilled when I told them we finally had full access to the site; they couldn't wait to dive into the vibrant illustrations and interactive science features that make the articles so engaging.\r\n\r\nWe have already hit the ground running using the platform for our classroom research topics. Whether we are studying the complexities of the solar system or the wonders of the human body, Kids Discover provides a safe and incredibly rich environment for my students to explore. It has been especially rewarding to see some of my more reluctant readers light up when they find an article that matches their interests. The ability to toggle reading levels and use the visual discovery tools has allowed every student—regardless of their starting point—to feel like a successful scientist and researcher.\r\n\r\nThis technology is doing more than just providing facts; it is teaching my students how to navigate the digital world responsibly and effectively. They are learning how to cite sources, cross-reference information, and stay curious about the world around them. Your support has removed a significant barrier to their learning, and seeing their confidence grow as they present their research findings is the best \"thank you\" I could offer. The dolls are a regular part of our class meetings, where we practice conflict resolution. The kids are so engaged and excited to help the dolls solve their problems. Their favorite part is when they each get a turn to coach the dolls. Usually, someone wants to be silly and offers a suggestion that his hurtful instead of helpful. That hasn't happened when I bring the dolls. All their suggestions are helpful! The first time I brought them to class, the kids were really confused. Everyone was asking why I had dolls. Now, when I arrive with the dolls, they cheer and lock in. \r\n\r\nThe next way I plan to use the dolls is in small group lessons. In the next few weeks, I will be starting small-group lessons for students who are struggling to self-regulate and/or be a friend. Each group will include time for them to practice the skills by coaching the dolls. We are all looking forward to it.","fullyFundedDate":1761520524748,"projectUrl":"project/conflict-resolution-skill-building-throu/9857518/","projectTitle":"Conflict Resolution Skill Building Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Long","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6745954_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761319432120","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6745954"},{"teacherId":516149,"projectId":9327219,"letterContent":"I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your generous support in funding the addition of 22 bilingual books to our library collection at our Elementary School.\r\n\r\nThese books, which were added to our shelves at the end of last school year, are already making a meaningful difference.
