Over the course of my career I have tried to meet the needs of these hungry bellies on my own, but have you ever had to feed a teenager? They. Are. Hungry. All. Of. The. Time. The snacks that I was able to receive from your donations have given my hungry student snacks now for a few months. \r\n\r\nI've use the food as a \"hey you look tired, lets get you something to snack on.\" I've used the food as a beginning of the class boost or reward. I've used it as a way to get a kid lunch because they didn't pack one or can't get through the food line in the cafeteria. \r\n\r\nThe food has been a way for more quiet students to come and talk to me. One student in particular was very hit or miss in the first semester on her attendance. She's very intelligent, but didn't come to class very much. With only a few weeks left of that semester she started asking for a granola bar or some other snack almost daily. These conversations led to more conversations before and after class. Slowly, we built rapport, and slowly she started to come to class almost every day. Here we are well into second semester, and this student seems to be excited to come to my class. I can't give all of the credit to food, but I think the snacks she would ask for opened up a means for me to build a relationship with this student. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support!","fullyFundedDate":1763996387167,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-the-homies/9911032/","projectTitle":"Snacks for the Homies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Conant","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10358081"},{"teacherId":10349804,"projectId":9894394,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom snack shelves have become a quiet but powerful source of stability for my students. In addition to supporting them during class, I host a regular \"lunch bunch\" in my room, where students choose to spend their lunch period. Even after eating lunch, many would comment on how hungry they still felt. The relief on their faces when they realized they could grab a granola bar or a small bag of Cheeze-Its to help them feel full and focused was immediate. One student who often arrives at school hungry now stops by regularly for a Pop-Tart. What may seem small has made a meaningful difference in that student's ability to settle in and engage for the rest of the day. When students first saw the snack supply, several asked softly, \"Are these really for us?\" That moment of feeling cared for mattered just as much as the food itself.\r\nAs our next step in American Literature, students will begin reading Into the Wild. We will explore themes of independence, identity, risk, and the search for meaning, while practicing critical reading strategies such as annotation, evidence gathering, and small-group discussion. Students will analyze key passages and respond to thought-provoking questions in writing and collaborative activities. These tasks require sustained focus, reflection, and perseverance — and because of you, students are able to show up ready to think deeply and engage fully. Your generosity continues to fuel not just their bodies, but their curiosity and growth as readers and thinkers.","fullyFundedDate":1763498212850,"projectUrl":"project/nourishing-minds-and-fueling-success/9894394/","projectTitle":"Nourishing Minds and Fueling Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10349804_orig.png?crop=173,173,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763052471657","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10349804"},{"teacherId":10025254,"projectId":9875010,"letterContent":"The donated snacks have become a quiet but powerful part of our daily classroom routine. Many of my students come to school without having eaten breakfast or knowing when their next full meal will be. Having a consistent snack basket in our room means students can grab something discreetly without drawing attention to themselves.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out happened during a timed rhetorical analysis writing workshop. A student who had been struggling to focus asked if she could grab a granola bar before we started. She came back, sat down, and worked steadily for the entire writing block. After class, she told me, \"It's easier to think when I'm not hungry.\" That simple statement captured exactly why these resources matter. They aren't just snacks — they're access to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1762874869545,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-students/9875010/","projectTitle":"Snacks for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10025254_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754689104394","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10025254"},{"teacherId":10025254,"projectId":9706733,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of laminators and cleaning supplies to our high school classrooms. These tools have already made a meaningful impact on our daily learning environment. In a school setting, technology is not limited to computers—tools like laminators allow students to create durable learning materials such as graphic organizers, vocabulary cards, lab guides, and peer-teaching resources that can be reused throughout the year. The cleaning supplies also play an important role by helping us maintain shared materials and workspaces, reinforcing responsibility and care for our classroom community.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is seeing their work transformed into something professional and lasting. Laminating student-created materials gives their work value beyond a single assignment, which increases pride and motivation. Several students in particular have really embraced this technology—especially those who benefit from hands-on learning or organization support. Students who struggle with focus or confidence often thrive when they can create tactile tools they can keep, reuse, and teach with. Your generosity supports not only academic learning, but also student ownership, confidence, and engagement, and we are deeply grateful for your support of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1762267744141,"projectUrl":"project/support-learning/9706733/","projectTitle":"Support Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10025254_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754689104394","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10025254"},{"teacherId":1467814,"projectId":9301870,"letterContent":"I just wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you for your generous gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers.
