Instead of spending valuable instructional time searching for pencils, notebooks, or other supplies, students are able to quickly find what they need and get ready to learn. Because of you, our students at Broad Rock Elementary are experiencing a whole new level of excitement and engagement in Physical Education.\r\n\r\nWe have already started using the new equipment in our pickleball unit, where students are learning how to safely handle paddles, control a ball, and work cooperatively with partners. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of younger students successfully rally back and forth for the first time—cheering each other on, staying focused, and celebrating their progress together. It was such a powerful example of confidence and teamwork in action.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the equipment, their reactions were priceless. There were wide eyes, huge smiles, and so many questions! Many had never seen or played pickleball before, so getting to hold their own paddle and try something new made them feel excited and important. It instantly sparked curiosity and motivation.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this unit, our next steps are to build on these foundational skills by introducing game play, strategy, and small-sided matches. Students will begin to apply what they've learned—serving, rallying, and positioning—while also practicing good sportsmanship and communication. We use the wipes daily to wipe down our desk between my two class blocks, the students use the paper towels when painting, to dry their paint brushes between color usage. Each week, different classrooms send students to be weather correspondents, pledge of allegiance leaders, and joke tellers. I genuinely can't wait to see how much this program grows next year.
