We've been using The Sword in the Stone during outdoor reading sessions, where students stretch out on their mats, dive into the story, and reflect on big themes like courage, growth, and identity. One powerful moment came when we discussed Arthur pulling the sword from the stone, students connected that scene to our mindfulness work, realizing how focus and calm can be a kind of strength. These outdoor sessions have transformed how we engage with literature; students feel more present, energized, and connected. Plastic containers will allow us to organize language and articulation games, ensuring quick access to engaging materials that promote vocabulary, grammar, and speech clarity through evidence-based, play-based interventions (Girolametto & Weitzman, 2002). These organized resources will create a structured, motivating environment where students can practice skills like requesting and joint attention, critical for intentional communication (Kasari et al., 2014). By streamlining material access, we can maximize therapy time, enabling students to make measurable progress in their expressive and receptive language skills, ultimately boosting their confidence and classroom participation.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, the laminator and lamination sheets will ensure the durability of custom-made articulation cards, visual schedules, and interactive games, preserving high-quality resources for years of repeated use. These materials are essential for delivering responsive interaction strategies, such as modeling grammatically-correct utterances and providing contingent feedback, which research shows accelerate language development (Yoder & Warren, 2001). Organized and durable materials will also support collaboration with teachers and families, as we share resources to reinforce skills in diverse settings.
