I can't imagine not having the stools available. The stools are stored on numbered carpet spots around the room's perimeter and each stool has a corresponding number. This allows students to get and return a stool quickly and easily. They still have traditional chairs but keep them stacked at the side of their table when using a stool. \r\n\r\nStudents have become very adept at knowing when to use a stool and when to use a chair and they can make that choice independently, quickly, and without disruption. They are then responsible for ensuring all the chairs are stacked and all the stools are returned to their spots at the end of each school day. \r\n\r\nThe stools have made our classroom more suitable, comfortable, and accessible to all of my students with their various needs. Every one of my students appreciates having access to these stools and finds them helpful at different times throughout the day. Several students benefit from using them the entire school day as they help them to meet their movement needs and stay focused on their desk work. We love the stools in our classroom!
