My students were so excited when they saw all of our new materials. They especially loved seeing our new class set of The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Having a book for every student makes it possible for us to read together, follow along, discuss the story, and build a love of reading as a class. The new pencils, scissors, and other supplies are already being put to good use during our daily learning activities, writing projects, and crafts. Our new classroom bulletin board has also given us a wonderful space to display student work and celebrate all of the learning happening in our room.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts has been seeing how excited the students are to have materials that belong to our classroom and that they can use every day. We are getting ready to begin The Mouse and the Motorcycle as a class, and we will use the novel to work on important second-grade reading skills such as comprehension, vocabulary, making predictions, discussing characters, and responding to our reading through writing and creative projects.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped make our classroom a more engaging, organized, and welcoming place for my students. We are so grateful to our donors for investing in our classroom and giving my students resources that will continue to support their learning throughout the school year.
