The iPad will help increase progress being made by students. This will allow me to focus on each student where they are at. I can use a program that will help me to do progress monitoring with each student and identify where their strengths and weaknesses are in reading and math. Our school doesn't have the funds to purchase the iPads and this will help me use technology to help each student. I will be able to differentiate for each student if they are struggling and including those that are needing extended level teaching. As I see these assessments, I can adjust or strengthen my instruction to meet the students needs. This is a great addition to the other group lessons given. This project includes a magazine to add social studies and current events into the reading lessons. This project includes math activities that will help my students to interact with each other in small groups. They will help in student led conversation and the activities will increase their social skills as well. Math games will provide the opportunity to move pieces, predict an outcome with choices they make, and think about what moves will help them win. Also, figuring out the math topics in a fun way will make their school days more engaging and interactive. Attendance is a foundation for learning, if they are there they can learn. The skills they learn with math games will transfer to at home activities. Small groups are helped by teacher and parent helpers to gain full momentum. These learning games will be shared with the other 3rd grade classroom at my school. The Covid situation has led to large gaps in students social-emotional and academic needs being met. I appreciate the added support being given to my teaching goals.
