One specific moment that stands out is during a recent small-group math rotation. Students used their clipboards to move between stations, whiteboard erasers for quick problem-solving practice, and games to reinforce skills in a way that felt fun and collaborative. The structure and organization these materials provide have helped students stay more focused and independent during transitions and group work.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were immediately excited. Many of them went straight to the new supplies, flipping through notebooks, organizing their folders, and asking when they could use the games. The calm corner also drew quiet curiosity, and students quickly began discussing how it could help them when they need a break or a moment to reset.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue building routines around these resources. Students will use their materials daily to track learning goals, participate in interactive lessons, and reflect on their progress. We will also continue teaching and practicing how to use the calm corner intentionally as part of our social-emotional learning work, helping students recognize their emotions and choose strategies that support their learning. These tools are already helping create a more organized, engaged, and supportive classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1764356307120,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-a-thriving-5th-grade-classroom/9927075/","projectTitle":"Tools for a Thriving 5th Grade Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harvey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10343370"},{"teacherId":10343370,"projectId":9897648,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students are already benefiting from the new bean bag chairs and SEL resources in our classroom. We have been using the bean bags during independent reading time and calm-down moments, and they have quickly become a favorite spot for students. One of the first days we used them, several students immediately made their way to the bean bags, smiling and saying how comfortable and \"cozy\" they felt while reading. It created such a calm and welcoming atmosphere that even my more hesitant readers were eager to settle in with a book.\r\n\r\nThe SEL materials have also been a meaningful addition to our daily routine. We are using them during morning meetings and reflection time to help students name their feelings, practice empathy, and build stronger relationships with one another. Students were excited when they first saw the materials and were eager to explore how they could use them to express themselves and connect with classmates.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these resources to strengthen our classroom community and support students in developing both academic and social-emotional skills. During our reading and writing blocks, students will continue using the bean bags as a choice seating option, while we integrate SEL discussions into literature conversations and peer collaboration. These resources are already helping create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1764686681297,"projectUrl":"project/helping-5th-graders-reset-refocus-and/9897648/","projectTitle":"Helping 5th Graders Reset, Refocus, and Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harvey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10343370"},{"teacherId":7136662,"projectId":5846591,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of this project.
