It is difficult for students to sit still and pay attention all day in a classroom. The average student sits for over four hours each day. However, children are better able to learn when they can move, feel empowered and are comfortable. Nontraditional seating has the power to do all three. Flexible stools lets students wobble, rock, lean or bounce. Even more, movement keeps young minds focused and alert. Uncomfortable students are distracted students. When students sit on chairs that better suit their body's. They are more easily engaged. Plus fun new chairs in a classroom would make small learning group more exciting.
